Family!

Memorial Day is about Freedom...
And we are thankful for the men and women who fight for that freedom.
Men and women who sacrifice their time with family and friends, so the rest of the world can enjoy
The freedom to spend a relaxing day with family and friends.
Sounds like a circle...
Giving usually does.

Is May Over Already?

We came home from distant lands to watch some of our grandbabies... The time has flown by way too fast, and it's almost time to hit the road (seas!) again.
I thought I'd post pics along the way- but how long has it been since you've had a two-year old in your midst?
It was delightful to have the Grulich girls for 4 days....

Then their mom and dad and baby Brynn joined us for the weekend.... they're delightful, too.

We had a one-day gap before Reese and Myla came to stay (Their mom and dad tried to soften us up by saying they were going on a mission trip to Mexico. They later came clean with the news that the trip fell through, so they changed their plans- to a resort named "Secrets". Hmmmm. Fitting. Wonder what else they're cooking up.) We had five days with the Cook girlies- such sweethearts!

Cap worked hard on swimming lessons for all the big girls... and by the time they left, all of them had made great strides in the pool. Avery said she loved Cap, because "He's so strong!"- Little does she know he has a huge weakness- for six little girls!

Ami (that's me) cooked lots of kid food, swapped lots of sweet hugs and kisses, fed lots of ducks, and just generally enjoyed myself immensely. I also took lots of pictures- can you tell?

Aunt Bobbie rolled with the punches- she was actually a GREAT help in the whole endeavor. Poor thing- went from total solitude to a house full of craziness overnight. Ah...it was good for her. :)

This morning my first thought was to check on the girls... and, I gotta tell you, it was kind of sad to realize I was on my own for morning coffee! SO love those little girls!

Happy Mother's Day!

Ohhh! So you know I'm a little late with this post, since Mother's Day is pretty obviously behind us now. But just thought I'd share why mine was the best Mother's Day ever! We weren't supposed to be home yet, but when Morning Glory got in earlier than planned, we were able to get together for a Sunday afternoon in Key Largo. The Broward County kids drove down for dinner at Gilbertsand a sleep-over on "Cap and Ami's Big Boat".

'twas great fun.
So good to be back with our family....

and now, a week later, we're home with even more family!
The fun just keeps on getting funner!

We're B-A-A-A-A-ACK!

Well, welcome home to us!
We sailed home a few days earlier than planned, due to some incoming inclement weather.
That meant a 48 hour passage from Staniel Cay straight through to Key Largo.
Kind of like having a baby in the house again... 3 hours of sleep, awake 3 hours, 3 hours of sleep....for 2 days in a row. (Makes me SO glad I don't work night shift- or have a baby- any more!) note: that doesn't include grandbabies.
On the positive side, the gulfstream was calm, the night beautiful- shooting stars and phosphorescent plankton and a red sliver of moon till around midnight. A nice crossing.
Right now we're anchored in Thursday Cove, off of Key Largo, where we'll have Morning Glory hauled out on Monday. Then home! We weren't supposed to get here till Thursday, so we're ruining everyone's schedules....but that's what cruisers do best! We roll with the weather, and change like the tide!
Now my blogging will shift to grandbabies and gardens. Our sailing friends will just have to put up with my "other side" till June, I guess!- That's when we'll head off again. Unless plans change.

BUT before we go... our last day in the Bahamas, we anchored in a spot famous for it's swimming pigs. If you come see us next year, we'll take you there. Promise.
I think the pictures say it all. Enjoy!
